Former Teachers: Your Classroom Needs You

Tempest Resourcing Supports Supply Teaching

Sign up for supply work today and join the national effort to keep classrooms open.

To limit the impact of Covid-19 on face-to-face education Tempest is seeking former teachers to sign up for supply work on a temporary basis as we play our part in assisting the national effort to keep classrooms and schools open.

This means we are looking for ex-teachers and qualified teachers, who are currently not working, to step in as temporary supply teachers at all levels as we look to help support schools through the pandemic.

Today, Covid absences are at record levels and schools are in desperate need of support just to remain open and keep face-to-face teaching going. A quarter of teachers report these are already having a major impact on schools.

Indeed, according to a poll from teaching union NASUWT of almost 7,000 of its members, nearly half of teachers have already been asked to cover lessons for absent colleagues.

That’s why returning to the classroom for just one day a week could be invaluable to a school in your area and be the difference between children maintaining that all-important face-to-face education that supports their mental health.

In addition, there’s no need to worry if your DBS check has lapsed, as we’ll take care of that and any other pre-employment checks for you as part of the process when finding potential supply work within schools. We’ll also help assist you with any other queries you may have around payment and things like pensions.

By signing up for local supply work today you’ll be helping to minimise disruption in the wider education sector and assisting students in your local area. Supply work is also a great way of building up your references should you wish to return to teaching more permanently in the future.
