The Role:
The school is looking for an English Teacher who can teach across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5, inspiring students aged 11 to 18 with a passion for both English language and literature. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced English Teacher or an NQT who is eager to develop their career in a high-performing and forward-thinking grammar school in Burnham.
As an English Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students, preparing them for their GCSE and A-Level English exams. You will play a key role in promoting a positive learning environment and ensuring that students of all abilities thrive academically.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching English to students aged 11 to 18, across Years 7 to 13
- Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level English exams
- Creating an inclusive and stimulating classroom environment where all students can succeed
- Supporting the development of the English curriculum and contributing to extra-curricular activities within the English department
- Providing timely feedback and academic support to ensure all students make progress
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A degree in English or a closely related subject
- Experience teaching English at secondary school level, ideally including experience with 11 to 18-year-olds
- A passion for English and a commitment to inspiring a love for literature and language in your students
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
