Data Officer – Havering – Immediately

Job Title Data Officer

Tempest Resourcing are recruiting on behalf of a School who are looking to appoint an experienced Data Officer.

The role is based in Havering and is full time Temporary. The school are looking for someone who can start Immediately.

The perfect candidate will have previous experience as a Data Officer within the education sector.

Job Role

Sims data, including upgrades.

Responsible for the School census.

Assist, as appropriate, with the workforce census.

Maintain student specific data to a high standard. Set up, maintain and review highly complex data

Create systems to provide data to inform SLT on value added performance of individual students, teachers, subjects and departments

Support Pastoral staff in curriculum reviews with Curriculum Leaders on results and data analysis

Create and devise data systems to highlight and improve in school variation in performance

To manage and develop academic, behavioural and report databases

Creation of strategic and operational data analysis systems to support in depth analysis of individual teacher, subject and curriculum performance; as part of the whole school self-evaluation process

Work with School ICT department to update and maintain the school website

Develop, monitor and maintain the school report system and procedures. (Student review and reporting)

Provide advice on target setting process

Advise SLT in relation to deadlines for data requirements

To maintain INSET records for the school and supplying reports when requested.

Responsible for the production of reports and arranging the distribution to students following liaison with teaching staff

Be responsible for the collation and analysis of school, pupil and parental surveys as appropriate

Create data in a clear, concise, easily understandable way

Knowledge, training and Experience

Educated to NVQ level 4, HND or foundation degree level and/or equivalent knowledge and experience in the specialist area of SIMS software and website maintenance.

Working at or towards relevant Business and Administration national occupational standards that underpin qualifications at level 4 or equivalent knowledge and experience

Significant office experience in a senior administrative role

Knowledge and understanding of Data Protection,

Safeguarding and confidentiality issues

Knowledge and understanding of internal and external guidelines and statutory requirements

Deep and broad knowledge and understanding of the school, school policies and procedures, and services to resolve queries and problems

Thorough knowledge and understanding of appropriate specialised systems and administrative and/or financial procedures

Supervisory experience

Able to use office equipment, such as photocopiers, printers, fax, laminators

Proficient user of MS Office software and/or in-house software

Personal Specification

We want a reliable and experiences person to provide SIMS support to the school in the design, development and production of reports of student performance for various audiences including SLT, governors, teachers and parents. You also need the ability to provide statistical reports to various external bodies (e.g. Census returns) and to maintain the school website.
